Introduction

The construction projects are exposed to substantial level of risk, which can be managed by carrying out careful assessment of risks along with making reliance on workplace health and safety standards. The project risk will be addressed only for construction phase and in order to confine project scope to only Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) risk is considered for devising risk management plan. 

Details of Project

This risk management plan is particularly developed for ADCO Constructions Pty Limited, which has undertaken the construction-only phase of project which is part of PrimeWest’s $75 million project (ADCO, 2019). The project requires the development of head office for Super Retail Group (SRG), at Strathpine Central Precinct. ADCO has undertaken the project under traditional tender, whereby ADCO will complete a three story commercial building for the group. 

Scope and objectives of the Project

The SRG head office project of ADCO has defined scope whereby A grade commercial office building will be constructed with 7,000 sqm net area of which 5000 sqm will be provided to SRG (ADCO, 2019). ADCO will develop place for gym, pool and child care area in addition to staff care parking area with 586 spaces. The driveways and campus style office premises will also be included into the scope of project.

For completion of construction-only triple story building of SRG, total budget of $35 million has been allocated to ADCO (ADCO, 2019). The project has been given time line of 12 months.  

Based on the defined scope, the objectives of project are to construct a modern type commercial building for SRG, which will be used as head office of the group. The construction of base building along with defined premises will be delivered by ADCO within 12 months duration. Thus ADCO is aimed to deliver project within budget and time limits, by efficiently and effective using all available resources. The compliance with Workplace Health and Safety regulations and provision of safe workplace to workers is also an important objective of project.
