The task of the coffee cup is a group project where we are allotted different tasks by our team leader. The main idea behind this project was for us to learn how to engage in a task that would help us in our practical lives and how to work in a team to get the desired results. The goals of our team are to complete all of the allotted tasks before the due date, get a distinction standard score on our assignments, learn and develop new skills and knowledge to work with the client. Our measures of success are to plan, communicate and execute tasks within a given time duration, to score 70% or higher grades on second and third assignments and to focus and study as well as improve skills and knowledge with the course. We are also asked to write SWOTs analysis of our group, as a Company’s workers my strengths are Management, Goal Oriented and Dedication, however, my weakness is that I lack the important communication skills needed to work in a team and to present in front of the audience. We then gave the expected dates for completion and submitting of the tasks; the group assessment tasks were Respond Project video, Industry Analysis report, Client Report, and Client Presentation. Then the tasks were allocated among the group members and these tasks are described in terms of what needs to be done under every task. Then comes what every team member will do every week, the tasks are allotted by the leader to everyone in the team. The completion of the task by members is specified by different colors highlighted in every week. The schedule of the meetings is also given in the Team Charter. The last pointer entails the agreed behavior by the team and the penalties if a line is crossed. Few of the behaviors include supporting each other to complete tasks, to assist each other in their tasks if one is struggling, to assign those tasks to the member in which they are comfortable and not overburden them with tough tasks, respect each other and listen to each other when solving a problem. If any behavior is violated a warning will be given to every anyone but if the team members violate the terms more than once than serious action will be taken against them. In the end, the team members have signed their names.

A researcher, Dr. Meredith Belbin investigated eight roles of a team in any workplace or education institution. The roles include Chairman, Shaper, Plant, Team worker, Complete Finisher, Company Workers, Resource investigator and Monitor Evaluator (Call of the Wild, n.d.). We were asked to apply for these roles in our team and I was the Company Worker. According to Belbin, a company worker executes, completes the tasks to accomplish the goals and a worker who can be flexible. This project was beneficial to us as it taught us how to learn, develop and execute new skills and knowledge in a team. This project also taught us how to put work as a team although different tasks are allotted to every team member. This project gave us an insight into how to work with the client which will be helpful when we enter into corporate life. As a Company Worker, my strengths are that I execute task keeping in mind the goals or objectives of the company, I am a dedicated team member of the group while my weakness is that I lack in communicating skills. According to my development plan, there are areas that I need to excel in like:

Team Skills: I need to start communicating more with my team members to get the desired results. This area will polish me and my skills that will be beneficial in my future.

Networking Skills: I lack the most in this as I am an introvert and this project is the perfect opportunity to improve my skills. This area will allow me to evolve.
