Online Tutoring on Disaster Recovery Plan
To be able to recover from a disaster, regardless of its nature and size is a question in itself. To recover from a disaster a lot is dependent on the management, leadership and the resources that are available. Now is it necessary to have a DRP in place to overcome any disaster or an organization can recover without having any DRP in place. I believe that companies can recover without having any DRP in place, the only issue is it will take more time, more resources and might also incur more cost.
In this time of intense competition, companies don’t want to take more long time to recover from their disaster, instead want’s to do that as soon as possible so that they might be able to get competitive edge over their competitors. Disasters could be of any time, it doesn’t necessarily has to be in the form of natural disaster, like Tsunami, Earth Quake, and so on. Instead, IT threats, getting hit by different kinds of viruses, or data getting stolen are few other examples.
One example of this can easily be relate to the Tsunami that happened in Japan, in 2011. Almost every single business had a major impact because, of it. But because of their DRP that they had, helped them in recovering from that disaster in a matter of few weeks (Parry. R, 2017).
