However, there actually is an impact of culture on the communication of the workplace. This is presented by Moran, Harris and Moran (2007, p.4) where they state that “t the root of the issue, we are likely to find communication failures and cultural misunderstandings”. Intercultural communication is important for the workplace because it helps the colleagues to understand each other better and solve the business tasks together to achieve the organization goals. Furthermore, researches have suggested that workplace diversity is the key factor that upholds effects of intercultural communication in the organizations. For a company to accomplish its aims and objectives the superiors must understand the notion of cultural dimension which would be required in interacting with others (Hunley, Chakraborty & MacDonald, 2018). Geert Hofstede refers to cultural dimension as “the collective programming of the mind that distinguishes the members of one group or category of people from another” (Hofstede, 1980, p. 5).
Workplace Diversity:
This era is all about globalization in which people from all the world can connect in an instant with the use of technology, individuals with different culture and ethnicities work together in an organization to achieve the organizational goals of a firm. Diversification is present in every sector all around the world, the firms in different countries are now recognizing the implications of workplace diversity on the firm (Saxena, 2014). The term workplace diversity refers to “human characteristics that make people different from one another” (Gomez-Mejia, Balkin & Cardy, 2007, p. 119). Incorporation of workplace diversity is crucial in the organizational goals and objectives, through this there is no discrimination of any kind and does not have a toxic environment in the workplace that helps the company to accomplish their objectives. The reason behind the inclusion is not only attainment of the organizational objectives but also the safety that the workplace provides to the employees as well as the corporation’s growth in the industry (Hudson Jr, 2014).
Advantages of Workplace Diversity (Cletus, Mahmood, Umar & Ibrahim, 2018):

A diverse workforce can help company in enhancing critical thinking and motivate the employees to improve their problem-solving skills. This can be doable when a corporation employs workforce from different cultural backgrounds. In addition to, a diverse workforce not only provides the mentioned skills but also helps the corporation to be successful in industry; the inclusion of personal experiences and different strategies by the workforce can help the environment of the workplace to be accommodating.
- Union of diverse strengths:
Workforce diversity in the company helps it to attain the organizational tasks, objectives and future plans. Not only this but diverse workforce has the potential to amalgamate the diversified strengths of different individuals in a company that can benefit it in the long run. Researches have stated that collective strengths in a corporation can be utilized for the company’s better performance, for instance it can accomplished through the amalgamation of the managerial, technical and sales strengths of different employees. Through the utilization of different strengths, the workplace would be free of discrimination or any biasness in the corporation.

From the start of the 21st century, this era has been about innovation through the utilization of high technology. There have been major changes as the way we all work, businesses have adopted innovative ways to be successful in the industry and to easily achieve major organizational goals. The employment of diversified force by the different corporations helps hire employees who have the potential of being competitive, innovative, creative and think outside the box that helps the organization to at the top of the game. The diversified workforce also promotes innovative environment in the organization where every employee is motivated to be apt and provide ground breaking solutions.

To conclude, it as been proven through the previous literature that workforce diversity is important for the organizations to promote intercultural communication. Today, firms include workforce who belongs to different cultures and ethnicities; the diversification among the employees in terms of culture can uphold good communication among the employees. Moreover, the environment of the workplace would also transform into an encouraging one as employees would be able to participate in planning and pitching ideas about the specific task to the superiors. This shows that the workplace environment would be motivating eliminating all the toxicity in the organization and helping the organization to be successful in the market. There are many advantages of cultural diversity among workforce that are critical thinking and problem-solving attitude of the employees, an amalgamation of diversity strengths that can be better performance or identification of a new skill among the employees and diversification fosters innovation.
