One of the main aims of the paper is to review a research paper. The paper that has been chosen for tis purpose is “Mitigating Threats to Collaboration and CMC: Identifying Antecedents of Online Deviance”.

The main research question that has been dealt with in the paper includes analyzing the main antecedents of the deviant behaviors online. What are the main behaviors in the people that have led to increased fraud and deviancy in the world of internet. The importance of the research question arises from the fact that there is lesser research on the given topic and there is a need that detailed analysis is conducted on the topic in order to make sure that more details can be known of the increased prevalence of the deviant behaviors online.

The main conceptual model of phenomena that has been given by the author in the paper is that there are various technology based tools that are used in the organizations. The employees and the technicians in the organizations who are more skilled in these tools are more learned and they are aware of the ways in which these tools can be misused. Thereby technology is one of the main online tools that have been studied in the paper for the use of deviant behaviors.

One of the main empirical phenomena that has been discussed by the author is that of computer mediated communication which has been used in the organization in the knowledge management systems and collaboration information systems. These are some of the main tools that are used in the organizations for increased collaboration and communication. As  there are strengths of these systems, there are certain  weaknesses, one of these being the way these tools are misused.

When the conceptual model and the empirical model are taken into account it is seen that the author has linked the two in a strong  manner. in these cases one of the main facts that need to be mentioned here is that the strength of the conceptual model is more effectively shown by the empirical model.

Survey among 450 university students of business majors is the research design of the chosen study. one of the main advantage of conducting a survey is that the bias that is often noticed from the respondents in the case of the interviews is reduced. The respondents in the case of the surveys only respond to the given closed ended questions. One of the main disadvantage is  that more detail cannot be known from the respondents about the topic.

One of the main shortcoming that has been noticed  is the lesser  explanation of the results that have been obtained from the survey. The author should have added simple explanation of the  results other than the statistical explanations  that are lesser comprehensive for a typical reader.  The overall length of the literature review is more which is less required. More focus should have been given to the results and the section of final analysis.
