Task

Critically analyse a CURRENT entrepreneur and his/her entrepreneurial journey, and propose suggestions for future directions.

Format

Report format to be used with headings and sub­headings (see below for the suggested structure), 12 Times New Roman font, 1.5 spacing. Prepare your report as a MS Word document, no more than 1,250 words (+/- 10%).

Detailed Instructions

Choose a current entrepreneur who must be a citizen from one of the following countries: New Zealand, USA, Thailand or Malaysia. The chosen entrepreneur must be the person who founded the business(es) (either singly or as part of a team), and currently still running or controlling the business(es), set up and headquartered in the above countries.

Make sure your report includes critical analyses ana reflection on/application of the relevant entrepreneurship theories required, and not just a simple presentation of the entrepreneur's

biography.

The following structure and detail are suggested (only sections 1-6 below contribute to your word count):

Cover page (Please include your full name, student ID, campus, class day & time, and tutor's name)

1. Introduction
2. Background of the chosen entrepreneur

• Discuss the background of the chosen entrepreneur (e.g. history, development, family and socio-cultural background) and how this background might have influenced entrepreneurial propensity and contributed to their entrepreneurial success (with reference to the relevant entrepreneurship theories).

3. Entrepreneurial traits/characteristics

• Discuss the characteristics or traits of the chosen entrepreneur (with reference to the relevant entrepreneurship theories).

4. Opportunity recognition/creation process

• Discuss the processes of

identifying/creating opportunity (performed by the chosen entrepreneur, again referring to the relevant entrepreneurship theories).

5. Competitive advantages

• Discuss the type of business developed and the competitive advantage(s) of the chosen business compared to competitors in the (Enhance your discussion with relevant information and research where possible, with reference to the relevant theories).

6. Recommendations

• Suggest future directions for the chosen entrepreneur, including different types of businesses or avenues (e.g. franchising, mergers, expanding/selling their business). Justify your suggestions.

7. References

• At least 72 references, including at least 5 academic references, cited using APA6 or Harvard format. All references must be in English.
